Beach Passes - No need to carry a pass around! - You will check in by name each day you attend.

Swim Areas
The zero entry is great for little ones. Swim lanes and a 6 foot center depth - for swimmers of all levels.

Facility & Activities
Changing rooms, kiddie slides, sand volleyball court, shade umbrellas, picnic areas available.

Safety
The Beach follows American Red Cross safety guidelines. Lifeguards on duty. Beach-goers should use the buddy system and supervise young children at all times. Lifejackets are optional in the Canoe and Frog slide areas (indicated in red).  

For the rest of the pond, all Swimmers, 11 years old and younger will be required to wear a life jacket except children ages 9 - 11 can test out of wearing a jacket or be exempt if they have passed Level 4 Swim test with Cloquet Community Education.

Only U.S. Coast Guard approved flotation devices may be worn in the water.

6 years and under need to be supervised by an adult that is in the water with them.12 years and up can come alone. Please swim with a buddy.

Patrons can bring food to the Beach. We will have vending machines and ice cream available to purchase at the desk. Please no glass, alcoholic beverages, grills, potlucks or birthday cakes. The pavilion outside of the Beach is available to rent for birthday parties. In order to keep the area clean, we are asking for patrons to pack in, pack out.

  • Lifeguard Certification information

    Do you have a teen looking for their first job? Do they like the water? If so, being a lifeguard is a wonderful first job or new job for a student! (Adults are also welcome to join our fun team!!) Teens must be 15 years old to become a Lifeguard through the Red Cross training. If your teen is interested in working at the Beach for the summer or at the CMS pool during the school year, please have them complete this registration. We will reach out to them once we have the class dates/times set up. Our Lifeguard class is a Blended learning class - online course work must be completed before the pool training. The preliminary swim test to go through certification includes the following: Basic Lifeguard*: Swim 200 yards (8 pool lengths) demonstrating breath control and rhythmic breathing. Candidates may swim using the front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of both but swimming on the back or side is not allowed. Swim goggles may be used. Tread water for 2 minutes using only the legs. Candidates should place their hands under the armpits. Complete a timed event within 1 minute, 40 seconds: Start in the water at the shallow end of the pool, and swim to the far end of the pool. Retrieve the 10-pound brick off the bottom of the deep end and return to the shallow end of the pool while swimming on your back with both hands on the brick. Upon arrival at the shallow end of the pool, exit the water without using the steps or ladder. Goggles are not allowed for this skill. *New through the training course structure for step 1 & 2 of the swim test- 150 yards must be done continuously, instructor will stop you to tread water for 2 minutes, finally finish the last 50 yards of swimming. After all participants have finished these 2 steps then step 3 will be administered. Registration will be open for this information class from October-April. No set dates for the actual Lifeguard class are set up yet.
