    Point of Impact Parent Meeting

For parents of teens that participated in Drivers Education in 2023-2024 (all classes). Meeting is free, but you must register to attend. Please call 879-1261 for questions. The more you know about teen driver risks, laws and helpful ways to talk to your teen, the more you can help your student become a safe driver. Guardians and students are invited and encouraged to attend a 90-minute class. Please limit attendance to one guardian per student to help maintain social distancing. Learn how to improve your own driving instruction and help your teen to become a better driver. Find out about the new rules for first-time drivers. New drivers have to log 50 hours of driving while they have their permit. Find out how to do this and reduce the required amount by 10 hours by attending a Cloquet Community Education Point of Impact (POI) meeting. Parents/guardians are encouraged to provide as many additional hours with their teens as possible to prepare them to become a safe driver. The driving log must be presented at the time of the road test and submitted with the application for the provisional license. We look forward to seeing you at the class and working together to make your teen as well-trained and safe as possible behind the wheel.

Drivers Education - Classroom and Behind The Wheel instruction

Cloquet Community Education offers Drivers Education to Cloquet (including CAAEP) and Fond du Lac students only. We do verify enrollment. If you are open enrolled in our district, you must call the Community Education office to enroll in the class at 879-1261. Program consists of 30 hours of classroom instruction and six hours of behind the wheel instruction. Class attendance is mandatory (if the student does not complete a full 30 hours of classroom they will not be able to take the permit test). Upon successfully completing the classroom instruction, students will be assigned a Behind the Wheel instructor and be issued their blue card in order to take the permit test. When registering please use the student’s full legal name (including middle name) and student's date of birth. If you choose to make payments on the class fee, the second payment will be due February 1 for the January 2024 class, and May 1, 2024 for the April class. Registering a credit card on your account will allow you to automatically make the payment when it is due. __________________________________________________________________________ 2023-2024 school year schedule: Mondays and Wednesdays, 6:30-9:30 pm January 3 - February 12, 2024 (for teens that turn 15 by March 31, 2024) April 3 - May 6, 2024 (for teens that turn 15 by July 31, 2024)
