  • Pinehurst Beach: Are swim masks and goggles allowed?

    Yes, but snorkels are not allowed.

  • Pinehurst Beach: Can I bring a lifejacket for my child?

    Yes, it must be a U.S. Coast Guard approved flotation device. Any swimmer, 12 years old and under, must wear life jacket while swimming.

    We do have lifejackets available for rent. Sizes: infant, 0-30 lbs., Child 30 - 50 lbs., and youth 50 - 90 lbs. Cost is $1 for rental.

  • Pinehurst Beach: Can I bring food with me to The Beach?

    Yes. Outside food is allowed into the fenced Beach area. We have vending machines and ice cream available to purchase at the desk. Please no glass, alcoholic beverages, grills, potlucks or birthday cakes. The pavilion outside of the Beach is available to rent for birthday parties. In order to keep the area clean, we are asking for patrons to pack in, pack out. There are picnic tables available outside The Beach area in Pinehurst Park where you may enjoy a picnic.

  • Pinehurst Beach: I'm not going to swim, can I get in free?

    No, all persons entering the Beach area are required to pay admission or have a Beach swim pass. This applies to swimmers and spectators.

  • Pinehurst Beach: Where is The Beach located?

    The Beach at Pinehurst is located just off of Highway 33 and Carlton Ave. in Pinehurst Park, Cloquet, MN.

    Just 20 minutes from Duluth: Take I-35 south.It is approximately 17 miles.
    On Highway 33 Turn at the stoplight at Carlton Avenue into Pinehurst Park and then turn right to get to the parking lot for The Beach. Click here for a map.

  • What are the office hours for Community Education?

    Our office, located at door #2 of the Cloquet Middle School is open Monday - Friday, 8 am - 4:30 pm.  During the summer. we are closed on Fridays.

  • What is your refund policy?

    Refund Policy: Cancellations must be made at least 2 business days prior to first class in order for a refund to be considered. Registrations will be refunded, minus a $5 refund charge. The refund will be credited back to your credit card. If you choose to leave the class fee on your account for future purchase we will waive the refund charge. (To use a credit-on-account on a future registration you must call our office 218-879-1261).

    Refund policy for bus trips: Because we must purchase tickets in advance of the event date, if you choose to cancel after the registration deadline has passed we cannot give you a refund. We will try to fill your spot with someone from the waiting list (if there is one) if at all possible and in that case we could give you a refund.

    For Baseball Games: 1. If there is a rain delay, the bus will stay until the game (event) ends. 2. If the game is cancelled due to weather, each person will receive a free ticket for the game that was canceled which will be played at a later date, but bus transportation will not be provided.  

    A participant who does not show up for class will not have their class fee refunded.

    If a participant finds it necessary to cancel after the start date, for a legitimate reason, the Community Education Director will discuss the matter at that time. If you have any questions please contact Community Education at 218-879-1261 or commed@isd94.org.  

    Registrants will be contacted if a class is canceled. If school is canceled, Cloquet Community Education offerings are also canceled. Classes held at outside locations may still be held. Cancellations, due to bad weather, will be announced on WKLK 96.5 FM, 1230 AM.

    In case of a 2 hour delayed start - ECFE and School Readiness classes that normally start before 10am are canceled. Classes that are scheduled to start at 10am or later that day will be held as normal.
