Ready to start speaking Spanish? This beginner-friendly course is perfect for adults who want to learn the basics! With over 40 million Spanish speakers in the United States, Spanish is the second most spoken language in the country, making it a valuable skill for personal, professional, and cultural growth. Whether you're planning a trip to a Spanish-speaking country, looking to enhance your language skills for work, or simply interested in learning a new language, this course will provide you with a foundation to begin your studies. Over five weeks, you'll be introduced to basic Spanish vocabulary, grammar, and conversational skills. You'll also gain an understanding of Spanish pronunciation, grammar, reading, writing, and listening skills. A key focus will be learning to conjugate regular -ar, -er, and -ir verbs, including the important verbs “ser” and “estar” (both meaning “to be”), in the present tense. No prior experience is necessary—just bring your enthusiasm to learn!
Is currently a Spanish teacher at Cloquet High School and has a degree in Spanish from the University of Wisconsin-Superior. Rebekkah studied abroad in Costa Rica at the Institute for Central American Development Studies, and has traveled to a few other Spanish speaking countries including Mexico, Spain and Ecuador.
