This German crash course will start with learning the German alphabet and practicing reading German correctly. During the second meeting we are going to start making simple sentences with the verb "to be", describing your family, friends, or expressing your opinion about something you see during a trip to Germany. For example, showing family pictures you can say: " Meine Familie ist nicht groß" or: " Meine Kinder sind Studenten an der Universität Minnesota ". After that we will practice sentences with the verb "to have"/haben that will enable you say things like : I have a pet/ Ich habe ein Haustier. Or: I have German friends/ Ich habe deutsche Freunde. We will learn about 10 German verbs useful for travelling, shopping, receiving guests. My plan is to start the course in person in Cloquet and after 2-3 lessons to continue it per Skype because I am going to be in Gerrmany.
I worked in ISD 94, Cloquet, MN for a quarter of a century! And I loved it! I was fortunate to teach German, ESL, Russian, and Spanish.
My Bachelor’s in teaching English and German is from the University in Petrozavodsk, Russia. I completed my 2 Master`s degrees at UMD and UConn.
I am retired now but I still enjoy teaching languages.
