Our BeachPinehurst Park is a great place to go for a swim with filtered, chlorinated water and a sand-bottom. Located in Cloquet, Minnesota. Just off Hwy 33 - at the intersection of 33 and Carlton Avenue.
Join Carlton County Animal Rescue volunteers and ASE staff to learn about what animal rescue is, why it’s super important, and how to be Junior Rescuers. Visits will entail fun filled activities including meeting current animals being fostered in rescue, a topic connected with animal rescue, and decorating fun ceramics that will be fired in our kiln and delivered to students within 2 weeks at school. Fun will be expected to be had while learning these important things!
Carlton County Animal Rescue is a foster based rescue that serves animals in need throughout Carlton County. After not having a shelter for over 5 years, CCAR started, and the community supported it with open arms. One of the important parts of CCAR is its junior volunteers and creating future animal rescuers. Our youth play vital roles in helping the animals in care from providing love/safety, helping take care of them, and helping share the importance of animal safety with others. For the second year, CCAR looks forward to working with students to educate the importance of animal safety, why Carlton County Animal Rescue exists, how they can help community animals, and create various fun enrichment things for foster animals to play with.
Please note that this class will have cats present. If your child is allergic or afraid of animals, please do not enroll them.
Dates
Wednesday, October 29: Dog Plate (6½" L x 4¾" W x 7¾" H) and Cat Face Plate (6 ⅛" W x 5 ⅜" L x ¾" H). Students will glaze these in class, and they will be returned to students within 2 weeks at school to bring home.
Wednesday, December 3: Paw Print (3 ⅛"D x ⅝"H) ornament & Grumpy Cat Mug. Students will glaze these in class, and they will be returned to students within 2 weeks at school to bring home.
