Teach a Class with Cloquet Community Ed! Community Education Instructor Applicant:Thank you for your interest in teaching a class with Cloquet Community Education & Recreation.Teaching a class is a great way to share your knowledge and skills with youth and/or adults in our community. We expect you to have a passion for your subject and a level of professionalism that will reflect well on our school and community. If your application is accepted, you will be required to attend a class planning meeting with the program coordinator. In addition, a criminal background check through ISD #94 is required. If you need assistance, or have any questions regarding the application process, please contact our office at 218-879-1261.IMPORTANT! Community Education is a community service - not a way to make a living, run your business, or sell your products! We reserve the right to reject or modify any classes that do not fit our guidelines. How much is the pay?Our instructors are both volunteer and paid positions. We generally compensate via a percentage of class fees, or flat fee. What will the cost of my class be?We strive to keep our class fees as low as possible. Class fees vary by class (type of service, amount of hours, etc.)Where do the class fees go that are charged for my class?Community Ed enrichment classes must be self sufficient. We rely on class fees to support our activities. Fees go towards: instructor salary, publishing and mailing the community education brochure (The LumberLog), providing a website & online registration, copies, supplies, custodial fees, and much much more. How and when should I schedule my class?Choose a week day(s) and time you are interested in teaching. We will determine if facilities are available to meet your needs. We can have limited programming on Saturdays and custodial fees may be applied - which can significantly drive up the class fee charged to students. No programming will be scheduled on Sundays. We can schedule classes off ISD #94 campus, but restrictions apply. We do not hold class on election nights (regardless of the class location), or during school vacations or during conferences at specific school locations, etc.Your selection as an instructor is contingent on the delivery of a quality product, verifiable customer satisfaction, and documented community need.
