*Please Note: We have combined Baby & You and Wonderful Ones to meet the needs of our families. The first months of life are a very special time for you and your baby. In our Baby & You class you will learn about the importance of these early years and what you can do to promote healthy development. Your wonderful one year old is beginning down the road to independence and exploring what is around them! (We realize separation from one year olds can be difficult and will begin a gradual separation when each group is ready.) Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) recognizes that parents are their child’s first and most important teachers. ECFE offers parents hands-on learning experiences and parenting discussions specific to their child's age that will help build the foundation for a lifetime of learning. What happens in an ECFE class? 1. Parent and child interaction time: A licensed early childhood teacher and assistant provide developmentally appropriate activities, songs and stories for parents and children to enjoy together. 2. Child time: A time devoted to learning through play and activities with licensed teachers and assistants while parents participate in a parent discussion time in a separate room. 3. Parent Time: Parents or caregivers participate in a discussion led by a licensed parent educator. Joys and challenges of parenting are shared and topic discussions are designed to address the developmental needs of each group. Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) classes meet once a week. Together, parents and children participate in activities and experiences that foster children’s social, emotional, cognitive, physical, and language skills. ECFE teachers use the Parent Education Core Curriculum Framework and Early Childhood Indicators of Progress: Minnesota’s Early Learning Standards provided through the Minnesota Department of Education. Enjoy a Bentleyville Tour of Lights Bus Trip! Twinkling holiday lights and the smiles of your grandkids---now that sounds like the way to spend a December AGE to age style evening! Join us as we travel by comfortable coach bus to the world famous Bentleyville Tour of Lights in Duluth. You’ll view thousands of lights that add magic to the season. AGE to age is all about enjoying events like these with someone from another generation. So grab your grandkids or grandparents and join the fun! Remember to dress warm! Pizza and beverages will be served. Children up to 17 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. Pre-registration is a must and seats are limited. NOTICE: No drop ins, all participants MUST be pre registered. This event may be cancelled or modified, and any pre registrants will be notified. Cost: FREE Bus picks up and drops off at the Cloquet Middle School. This class with briefly touch on the book: The Bullet Journal Method by Ryder Carroll (book not required). How to get started bullet journalling, how to pick supplies (so so many!!!), how to set up a bullet journal (index, year, monthly, weekly logs, habit trackers, keys, and collections), and resources to help the beginner bullet journaler.

Join Carlton County Animal Rescue volunteers and ASE staff to learn about what animal rescue is, why it’s super important, and how to be Junior Rescuers. Visits will entail fun filled activities including meeting current animals being fostered in rescue, a topic connected with animal rescue, and making simple fun crafts for the adoptable animals to enjoy! Fun will be expected to be had while learning these important things! Proceeds from these classes will be donated to Carlton County Animal Rescue. Please note that this class will have cats and dogs present. If your child is allergic or afraid of animals, please do not enroll them. Dates Thursday, October 3: Magic Cat Wands: This is a fun toy that can be fun for cats of all ages to play with. Tuesday, November 19: Self-petting Cat Station: Cats will love these stations that offer unlimited pets! day, December 17: Catnip Sock Toys: This is a fun toy that can be fun for cats of all ages to play with.
